Led Zepellin
Update: There will be no further posts on blogger. Please go to 23psi.com.
Last night there were 20,000 people that were hands down luckier than the rest of the 6.6 billion poor sods that occupy this planet. They were all found at the O2 Arena in London last night attending what was possibly rock's biggest reunion ever, Led Zepellin's one-off gig dedicated to Ahmet Ertegun (Education Fund), founder of Atlantic and who had as much balls and foresight to first sign them. Read the first dispatches of the gig from the New York Times and Bloomberg.
I wonder what the t-shirt sales (if any) were like that night. Here's a replica from their 1977 US Tour. The image was taken from Evening: Fall Of Day by William Rimmer and it became the logo for Swan Song, the label they set up when their contract with Atlantic expired in 1973 (from The Art of The Band T-Shirt).
Update
Here are some pictures of the t-shirts from the show. Love the typeface and colours especially on the black colorway. As you would imagine, they (together with the program booklet) are going for a pretty penny on eBay.

All this was originally posted on tcritic and that's where you will find the (threadless) t-shirt connection. I'm a fan of Eddie Izzard and that's why this youtube clip is here. Even the all powerful Lord Vader can have a bad day.

Skull T-Shirts

What's up with the skull fascination? When I began this I told myself that there will be a skull t-shirt in my line-up. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. But all said and done, none, not mine nor any other label's (in my opinion anyway) will be as iconic as the Misfits skull though it was appropriated from The Crimson Ghost, a 1946 TV show, while the typeface was from the magazine, Famous Monsters of Filmland. What else can I say but that I want one in my closet.

Here is the production sample for the white colorway skull tee.
Almost there except for some changes to the stitching/construction.
